Daily Summary 12-06

----------------
BIOLOGY
----------------

IN CLASS:

- Objective: Be able to describe the flow of the light-dependent reactions and the light-independent reactions of photosynthesis

- Warm up: What happens during the Calvin cycle (light-independent reactions)? Draw a cyclic diagram to show the process (see p. 212)

- HW check

- Group practice quiz on photosynthesis

HOMEWORK: Use your textbook and other resources to:

1.) Draw a detailed, colored, labeled picture of a chloroplast, including all of the interior structures

2.) Do a second detailed, colored, and labeled drawing that is a magnified section of the thylakoid membrane and shows the structures that are used in the light-dependent reactions.

3.) Describe the steps of the light-dependent reactions in as much detail as you can underneath your drawings. In your description, please use the words light, thylakoid membrane, stroma, ATP, NADPH, high-energy electron, H+, and ATP Synthase.

DUE THURSDAY

TOMORROW: Start Photosynthesis Lab
