IN CLASS:

- Objective: Using your understanding of Darwin’s ideas AND modern genetics, construct a group concept map showing the connections between the major ideas in chapters 15 and 16 AND complete genetic drift activity

- Warm up: What is genetic drift? How is it different from natural selection? [5]

- Notes/discussion on evolution as genetic change [15]

- Complete “Driftworms” genetic drift simulation [25]

- Work on individual concept maps in groups [15]

- Turn in Rat Island Posters (DUE MONDAY, NOW LATE) and Candy Bowl Mini Lab (DUE LAST FRIDAY, NOW LATE) [2]


HOMEWORK: Read section 16-3 again, answer ALL section assessment


TOMORROW: Continue concept maps
