APES Syllabus Jigsaw Assignment Instructions (Detailed)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AP ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Overview

In pairs or solo, design and create a poster describing (with both images and text) the assigned section of the syllabus.

Creativity counts! The area of your finished poster must be equivalent to that of four standard copy paper sheets.

Poster presentations will begin tomorrow, 8/13 and wrap up on 8/14.

The purpose of creating these posters is to give both of the APES classes a kind of roadmap for the year (the posters will be hung together in one large grouping) as well as a providing a resource for reviewing these ideas just before the AP exam in May.

Specific Requirements

Your poster should include:
  • your name(s) along with standard heading in upper left corner
  • a clear and prominent title (the name of the unit as printed on the syllabus)
  • a logical (to you) arrangement** of the topics (the ones listed on the section of the syllabus selected by you and your partner)
  • hand-drawn pictures, printed photos, or printed graphics (from your own personal photos or from the Web) to represent / help describe the topics
  • Brief definitions to help explain some of the more esoteric (less common) terms on your poster

**You may consider using a concept or bubble map style to relate the topics to the main topic of the unit
