Objectives:

Determine FEV1 for each individual in class and discuss relevance of this value to epidemiological studies of pulmonary diseases and their relationship to air pollution

Warm-up: List as many kinds of air pollution as you can think of and the major cause of each. How is air pollution like that in other parts of the biosphere (soil and water) and how is it different? [10]
