ROCK WALK / ROCK ID BOOKLET RESOURCES

Create a Rock ID Book that will assist you in identifying several unknown rock samples.

*You will not be able to do any acid or hardness test to identify your rocks.

Explore the samples around the room to get an idea of the types of rocks that you will be required to identify on Thursday.

Your ID Booklet should have the following:


  1. Title and cover artwork
  2. One or two pages summarizing the rock cycle, including a diagram
  3. Definitions of rocks (including the three major types) and minerals
  4. Entries for as many minerals and rocks as you have time to draw and detail
