PBS: Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead Response

Take some time to reflect on the movie Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead with the following questions in mind:

  1. What was unhealthy about Joe's lifestyle before he started his juice fast?
  2. How did the fasting affect Joe's physical appearance and medical conditions?
  3. Could you stay on a juice fast as long as Joe did? What do you think would be the most difficult part? Why?
  4. Why do you think Joe lost so much weight so rapidly? Do you think this was healthy to lose so much weight in such a short period of time? Why or why not?
  5. Do you think most of the people he was encouraging to change their diets were able to do so permanently? Why do you think it is so difficult for many people to make changes to their eating habits? Try to come up with at least 3 reasons.

OK, now that you've given these questions some thought, write a response to the film in which you address the questions. Write up your response in a Google Doc file and place it in your "PBS" folder. Title it "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead Response."
