Daily Summary 01-18

----------------
BIOLOGY
----------------

IN CLASS:

- Objective: Correctly describe the structure of the DNA molecule (verbally) and create a three-dimensional model showing the three parts of a nucleotide AND the assembly of these nucleotides into a double-stranded molecule of DNA

- Warm up: What are the three molecules that make up a nucleotide (write the names)? Now sketch a nucleotide using the following three shapes: a circle, a pentagon, and hexagon (think carefully about which shapes should be used to represent each of the three parts of your nucleotide) [8]

- HW Check [8~]

- Turn in “Yeast” and “Exercise” Labs for late credit [8~]

- DNA Bead Activity, Parts I and II [20]

HOMEWORK: Answer questions for figures 12-9, 12-10, AND the CHECKPOINT

TOMORROW: Replication and DNA Bead Activity, Part III
